David came up on the editorial side — including stops at Prologue, Troika, We Are Royale, Trailer Park, and The Mill — before founding Workprint in 2020. On every project he is either cutting it himself or leading the creative directly, never just signing off from a distance. Promax Gold winner. Emmy-nominated.
Ohio roots and Midwest work ethic. Now in Los Angeles. Outside the suite he is a runner, a dad, and a fan of long days that end with everyone at the dinner table.
Every new project starts with him. No account managers, no relay, no lost-in-translation between brief and cut.

Built backwards from the work.
Most studios start with a payroll and pitch what fits it. Workprint starts with what the project actually needs and builds the team from there. The model bends to the work, not the other way around.
Senior on every project.
The person you hire is the person doing the work. No pitch teams, no junior re-assignment, no “creative director will check in Friday.” David is on every project — cutting it or leading the creative directly. The colorist colors. The mixer mixes. That’s the whole list.
Boutique is structural.
Small isn’t a phase before scale — it’s the operating model. Less overhead, faster decisions, no client subsidising other clients’ idle weeks. The studio stays the size of the work in front of it.
Run shoots or sell brand strategy.
We don’t shoot, direct, cast, or run discovery sprints. We do bring creative approach and design ideas to the projects that need them — that’s part of the cut, not a separate agency engagement.
Pitch on spec.
We don’t cut sample material on bids. We talk through references and approach instead. If we’re a fit, we start.
Hide our team.
Every collaborator on a project is named upfront. No work farmed out behind the studio logo without you knowing who’s on the cut.
Take more than we can ship well.
The studio doesn’t grow to chase demand. If we’re booked, we say so. Boutique stays boutique because that’s the model, not the marketing.
